Springboard Settings Hacks Made Easy

For those who were too scared lazy like me to try Erica Sadun’s hacks for the springboard from a few weeks back, now there is an even easier way. Erica has posted a pre-made .plist to replace the original file. The modified .plist enables access to the hacks thru the addition of GUI switches in the settings menu of the iPhone. The modified .plist among other things enables you to set a fake carrier, time, hide and reveal apps and also emulate the glossy, mirrored iPod Touch dock.

Hi Kameron–

I’ve tried to FIND the Settings-iPhone.plist file so I can make the changes you refer to, but I can’t find the file. I’m on a Mac, using Cyberduck to cruise my iPhone’s folders and files. /Applications/ is nowhere to be found either, nor is /Preferences.app. Clearly I’m doing something wrong or need a program other than Cyberduck. Any suggestions? Thanks.
