Scrabble For iPhone
The classic game of Scrabble has been ported over as a native iPhone application. Simply move the tiles to the board forming your word of choice. Double tap to move a tile off the board. Current play is limited to two players and Jiggy Runtime, which is available on Installer, must also be installed in conjunction with the Scrabble application. The only bug I encountered was wherein I tried to spell fugly and was told it wasn’t a word. I’m quite sure it’s a word because i’ve been called that plenty of times. Look at the screenshot for proof. Haha. Must be manually installed for now and will update if an Installer source is added. Look for Scrabble in the list and download here.

well you can always add fugly in the dictionary javascript: if you want it to be recognize
Hi, I installed this onto the iphone using WinSCP. Restarted etc. It appears on the iphone, when I tap it it says loading dictionary for about 10 seconds then just goes back to the iphone home screen. I installed jiggy runtime. Anything I’ve missed? Thanks
Had the same problem with Big MrC…did install jiggy runtime too.
make sure to set permissions to 755 on the application
Do i set permission for Scrabble.app folder? if i have to set to specific files, can u let me know which files i need to set permission for? THanks, appreciate it

Usually setting the executable’s permission to 755 is good enough to get it working.
aaight….first make sure u have “jiggy runtime” installed.
Download Scrabble and install onto your iPhone…(I used ibrickr) then use the “squid” program to 755 the “jiggy” file in your scrabble directory….and whaalaaa…done!! Do the same exact thing for the game “TextTwist”, and you’ll have 2 new games…..(sorry it took me so long to figure it out.)
Rayza/Kameron, i tried both Finder and Squid but i get a permission 511 (777) for scrabble. still it doesn’t work.
this number also appears with text twist but this is working.
any ideas?
If you have Tetris installed apparently scrabble will not work due to Jiggy .23 which Tetris installs. Thats what it says here anyway: http://www.iphoneskinning.com/2008/02/tetris-native-iphone-app.html

i tried this but it just crashes and i have no clue wuts happinging does any 1 no how to make this work???

I have been trying to get this game on my iPhone from a long time… I have Jiggy Runtime on my phone. I used SSH and set permissions to 0755. When I open the app, it loads the main screen – which says “Please wait while the dictionary loads….” and then after a few secs, it returns to the Springboard. I dont understand what is the problem.
I had the same issue with my 1.1.2 phone…first tried the _ Scrabble.zip files….set all permissions and it would still crash back to main screen after trying to load dictionary
I uninstalled and then installed the other version_ Scrabble-113-a.zip (even though I am on 1.1.2 still).
Set permissions on ALL of the files to 0755 (selected them all at once)…did this in the two folders within the app as well…
All works great now….
I followed the same directions as Toydesign and everything works great now. AFP’d the scrabble 113 version to applications folder. Used Squid to 775 (make all exec) and now works perfect.
Can anyone tell me how to Set permissions on ALL of the files to 0755 ??????
i cant seem to make my SSH run, please help!!!
